Happy Valentine's Day!

I know there are lots of haters out there but I am not one of them. Honestly, when people start hating on it I get kind of pissed. I don't understand the need to bash something that's supposed to be positive. Sure, we should celebrate love every day but who does that? I think as humans we need reminders. It's like New Years... suddenly everyone decides to diet or quit smoking or spend less... only V-day is the day they remember to bring home flowers for their wife or dust off the hubby's favorite dinner recipe, send a card to their long-distance BFF or bring cupcakes to work for the people they spend so much of their day with.

Alas, my school aged kid has been home sick all week and the tot doesn't quite get the concept yet. We'll be having whatever I throw together for dinner and then working on the safety stuff for setting up the tot's room for her big girl bed transition. I anticipate it being a very LONG night. Oh, and I bought cologne for the hubs and Jewelmint goodies for myself from him. I told him he could see what he got me on Valentine's Day when I wear them... and his reply was 'you'll be wearing just your new jewelry?'. Cheeky bastard. ;)

But all of this blahblahbiddyblah so I can show you what he made for his coworkers for Valentine's Day...

Valentine's Day in the SW Universe goes something like this:

Leia: "I love you."
Han: "I know."

Han ends up all frozen, then packed off to a gangster's manHuttcave... but I bet if he were frozen in chocolate Jabba would have eaten him before Leia could attempt a rescue. You have to be thankful for the little things, no?

Want to make your own Han Solo in Carbonite chocolates for your Valentine?

You will need:

(we used Dark Cocoa Mint, brown ones are recommended)
(we used Silver)
• Wax or Parchment Paper (the kind used for baking)
• a spoon

Just follow the directions on the Candy Melts package to melt the chocolate, spoon it into the molds, gently tap the mold on the counter to release air bubbles, let stand (or set in fridge) until solid, pop them out and lay them on the sheet of wax paper or parchment, then use the Color Mist to 'spray paint' them to a metallic finish.

Personally I liked them before he made them completely silver. Just a fine mist made them look more bronze. I know most versions you see are silver but watch ROTJ... looks more bronze than silver to me. Just sayin'.

Happy Valentine's Day people... and may the Force be with you. :P
