Not perfect but looking forward to trying it in another season. (4 Stars)

After trying multiple samples of the Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream, 1.70-Fluid Ounce and loving the texture and light moisture I went into the store to pick some up but saw this next to it. Thinking since they're both in the Moisture Rescue line and this one had SPF 15 I'd try this one instead.

This is definitely a light moisturizer and I was pleased with the SPF factor but it made my skin, which is both combination and sensitive, quite greasy looking. I'm a bit acne-prone but had no trouble with this causing break-outs which is good news. :) The moisture was insanely long lasting, after a long day when I wash before bed my skin still feels great. Most of all I love the smell, this doesn't smell chemically or like it's fragranced to mask a harsh odor. Yes, one of its ingredients is a fragrance but it's light and makes me think of green things.

Overall I really do like the quality and feel of this product. It feels luxurious for being a drugstore product. For me I think I'll shelve it until after summer and see if perhaps the warmer weather wasn't part of the reason this gave me the shinies. If you're looking for a light moisturizer with SPF that's friendly to sensitive and acne-prone skin I'd recommend giving it a try though I do still prefer the Gel-Cream (if you're using a foundation with SPF over it like I do it's a perfect combo).

Unique Foods, Beautiful Simplicity (5 stars)

There are two things I guess I would consider myself pretty passionate about sharing with my children; my love of reading and good food. Both are things it seems harder and harder to share with kids as packaged foods and video games tear kiddos away from the joy of having the imagination and the tastebuds stimulated. So I try really hard to find lots of fun and interesting books to share with my toddler and of course, feed her lots of new foods to expand her palate.

EATING THE RAINBOW really wowed me. Not only is it teaching colors in a simple format with beautiful photographs it wasn't just a list of the boringly basic bananas and apples. This book features some less everyday foods many kids don't know as well, such as peppers, figs, and mushrooms right alongside common American staples like strawberries, eggs, and brocolli.

My 21-month-old is an avid food taster. If she sees you eating it... she wants it. She loves mushrooms, avocados, and mango but she enjoys basics like eggs, blueberries, and cheese. If you'd like to encourage your tot to try some new foods this might be a great way to show them a wider variety. While this isn't purely a book of fruits and veggies I really like it and my little one does too... mostly she wants to eat it and I wish I could blame it on the food pictures but no, she's a toddler and loves to chew on her books. Happy parenting!

Beauty Rhi-view: OPI's Lemon Tonic Manicure/Pedicure Products

Perfect for the Summer Pedi Season! (5 Stars)

My local spa started using this scrub and massage cream for the summer's pedi season and it is my new favorite. Not only does it have a refreshing scent but it leaves my feet and legs ultra smooth and soft for a couple of days which is practically unheard of!

When I was getting my pedi this past weekend the gals and I finally figured out how to describe the scent to someone who wanted to buy it without trying it. It's like a lemon chiffon cake, citrusy but sweet, not the bright and bitter tones of lemonade. The scrub feels like a mixture of butter and sugar while the cream is much thinner but very moisturizing. (The mask, not included in this kit, is luxurious too!)

If you're looking for a nice gift for a pedi fanatic this is very summery but I think would be a great sunny perk-me-up in the dreary winter months.
